ABOUT THE JOB

As a Senior Frontend Engineer at IMPACT, you play an important role in the development of large e-commerce projects for some of Scandinavia's largest brands and retailers. You will experience a high degree of influence and involvement of professional competencies across the entire organisation from day one.

You mainly write Javascript/Typescript but are also responsible for implementing layouts with styling and semantic HTML. You are a key player in the projects you take part in, and you collaborate with the rest of the team in translating strategy and business needs into solution concepts. You uncover the customers’ specific needs and ensure professional guidance focusing on the quality of the solution, both when it comes to architecture, performance, safety, and robustness. In addition, you take care of estimating and grooming development tasks in collaboration with your team and the customer. You will be part of a team of frontenders working in tandem on larger projects. Still, you may also have complete responsibility for the frontend on a smaller solution that needs to be made from scratch or developed further.

Today, our stack is based on React/Next, Emotion/styled tools, and Git, and our solutions are single-page applications. We usually use Umbraco or EPIServer as a headless CMS, we communicate through cloud-based microservices, and our frontend is generally hosted in Azure with CloudFlare in front. We are also moving into Commerce Tools and Algolia, so clearly, we have enough buzzwords to go around, but we hope you can teach us some more.

YOUR PROFILE

You have at least 5 years of experience with frontend development and have experience with larger projects. We expect you to be a driven, outgoing person, and that you have the desire to fill an important role in the team. And while we’re not looking for the infamous ”10x engineer”, you should be able to check a couple of these boxes:

• You have mastered Javascript and are familiar with, or even adept at, Typescript.

• You master styling pre-processors such as SCSS or Emotion

• You have worked with React, possibly with state management such as Redux, Zustand, or similar, and may have played with NextJS as well.

• You have experience building SPAs.

• You are comfortable with Git.

• You have experience with SEO optimisation, semantic markup, and microdata.

• You know about performance optimisation, and love abbreviations like CLS, FCP, and LCP.

• You can break down and estimate tasks.

• You are familiar with SCRUM processes and are used to working agile.

• You are happy to learn new things and to share your knowledge.
